DESCRIPTION

The goal of this project is to understand the leadership and management practices essential to leading scientific research with integrity. The research team invited nominations of exemplary researchers—individuals with a reputation for leading high-quality, high-impact research with the utmost professionalism. The exemplars completed a survey and participated in one-hour telephone interviews about their leadership and management practices. Building on these findings, we will assess investigators’ leadership training needs with the ultimate objective of developing evidence-based resources. The resources will help researchers meet the leadership and management demands of their work, thereby enhancing research integrity and social impact. This mentored career development grant also supports educational opportunities for the Principal Investigator, Alison Antes, PhD, aimed at facilitating her transition to an independent investigator.
