MEREDITH PARSONS, MS, CHES, is a Staff Scientist in the Bioethics Research Center in the Division of General Medical Sciences at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. She completed her Master’s of Science in Applied Health Behavioral Research from Washington University and became a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) after receiving her Bachelor’s of Science in Health Science from Truman State University, concentrating in health administration and worksite, community, and public health.

Meredith employs both quantitative and qualitative methods, focusing on such topics as facilitating responsible qualitative research data sharing, implementing evidence-based informed consent practices in clinical trials, preventing egregious breaches of medical ethics, and exploring ethical issues in industry-academia partnerships in neurotechnology device development. In addition to her work in research, Meredith develops educational resources for research professionals, including materials found on QDSToolkit.org and ConsentTools.org.

Meredith’s interests include qualitative research methods and analysis, responsible innovation and technology development, neuroethics, and stakeholder engagement in policy and decision-making.
